Last week, I featured some wonderful mustard yellow pieces in my #WishListWednesday post. Today, I'm focusing on beautiful bohemian style. Here are six gorgeous "boho" items that caught my eye this week: From top left, clockwise: The first item on my wish list this week is Urban Outfitters’ bright woven rug, which features a multi-coloured triangle design and frayed edges. The rug is made from 100% cotton and costs just £18. Isn’t it lovely? I'm thinking about getting it for my office room... The second item on my wish list is the wonderful ‘Pharaoh’ woven lounge chair available from AlexanderAndPearl.co.uk (£325). The chair is modern, but with a vintage feel. I think it’d look wonderful piled with the cushions featured on this page. I'd love this for the corner of my ... [Read More]
Friday Five: Animal Print Cushions
In our house, we're a little bit animal print crazy. Basically, if it's got an animal on it, we're more likely to buy it. At the moment, we're looking for a new cushion to go on the chair on our dining room, which is receiving a little bit of a makeover since our house move last month. I've been trawling the web looking for room accessories that'll suit the room. Upon my virtual travels, I've come across several animal print cushions - they're clearly in vogue at the moment. Here are some of my favourites: Top: The “Deer Dream” cushion is by designer Sky Siouki, and available at In-Spaces.com for £85 (along with a number of coordinating cushions from the designer too.) The stunning deer design is digitally printed onto 100% silk dupion, and the cushion is backed with 100% ... [Read More]
Wish List Wednesday: Mustard Yellow & Prints
This is my first ever Wish List Wednesday post, and yes, I'm cutting it fine publishing just before midnight! Here are a couple of wonderful things I've had my eye on this week: From top left, clockwise: My first pick is the Harlequin 'Lulu Multi' rug, available from John Lewis (£330.00). I love the geometric pattern, it almost looks like the triangles are painted on to the rug. With this, I think the muted tonal colours give the print a very soft feel. This rug would look perfect any living room: My second and third picks are pieces by Orla Kiely. My boyfriend isn't into home decor or interior design, but even he loves this gorgeous retro 1960s style table lamp (£112.00) via Amara. I also like the coordinating Orla Kiely cushion in duck egg blue (£37.00), also ... [Read More]

But first - why go eclectic in the hallway? The answer to that question is very simple: the hallway is the entrance to your home. It sets the tone for the rest of the house. Let’s not forget about practicality: The hallway is also an area with a high footfall, used by all members of the household and, of course, visitors. This communal space has to serve many purposes: a place to set down keys, a place to put away shoes, an area to meet and greet guests, and so on. While ... [Read More]
Modern macrame wall hangings
Macrame is having a ‘moment’ right now. Load up Pinterest and you’ll see it popping up everywhere - from bracelet tutorials on DIY fashion blogs to hanging basket holders in interior design magazines. For the unacquainted, macrame is the technical name for the process of creating a new textile, typically by knotting lengths of cotton, leather, cord, yarn or rope. The macrame trend is nothing new though: it was big in the 1970s, and according to Wikipedia, its most popular era was during the late 1800s, during the rule of Queen Victoria. Apparently, the skill dates back to the 13th century and the name comes from an old arabic word meaning “Fringe”. Macrame wall hangings are the perfect finishing touch for a bohemian or eclectic style room. If they still conjure up images from ... [Read More]
Pineapple lamps: the eclectic home must have!
I went shopping last weekend and saw a beautiful champagne coloured pineapple lamp at Laura Ashley (see below). I've noticed they're popping up all over the place at the moment. Pineapple lamps must be the trend du jour. As such, I’ve decided to seek out the creme-de-la-creme of pineapple lamps and share them here. They're perfect for the eclectic-style home. Here’s what I’ve found: Laura Ashley This is the stunning lamp I saw in Laura Ashley’s store a couple of weeks ago, where it caught my eye! Isn't it pretty? (Pictured above too). While trendy and fun, this lamp neither bright nor garish. It's subtle and understated. This lamp is perfect for somebody who is looking for a pineapple lamp that’s not too overwhelming and distracting. It's a fantastic nod to the ... [Read More]
